EMPEA and its partner the Beijing Private Equity Association (BPEA) are proud to announce their roles as co-organizers of a special one-day event, the First Annual Beijing Private Equity Forum, scheduled to take place on Monday 22 September 2008 at the Westin Financial Street Beijing. Hosted by the City of Beijing – Municipal Financial Services Office and sponsored by leading fund managers Hony Capital, CDH China, Hopu Investment Management, CITIC Capital Holdings and others, this event will feature in-depth discussions about the future of China’s fast-evolving private equity industry.

The event begins on Sunday evening, 21st September with a very special banquet at Gongwangfu Palace, the best-preserved Qing Dynasty mansion in the Beijing area (rarely opened for private functions).

The main program on Monday 22nd September will be held in the Treasury Ballroom of the Westin Financial Street Beijing hotel. Leaders from the key Chinese regulatory agencies will share their perspectives on the evolving regulatory environment for private equity investors in China, to include:

  • The People’s Bank of China
  • China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC)
  • China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC)
  • China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC)
  • National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC)

Leading local and international fund managers and limited partners, and prominent Chinese and foreign academic institutions will then share their views and best practices, and highlight the key challenges to the Chinese private equity industry. Program sessions will cover the following topics:
